Is having a virtual pet really all it is made out to be? What are the differences between a real pet and a virtual one? Let’s take a look at some of them. Virtual pets don’t make messes. They don’t shed fur. They don’t stink or need baths, ever! They don’t get hungry in the middle of the night, and make noise until they are fed. They don’t require space. If properly cared for, they won’t ever die, and if they die, you can get another one exactly like them. On the other hand, a real pet may be able to create a more serious and lasting bond with its owner. It can be taken to the park, and for walks. It may show more signs of affection. A real pet will be loyal to its true owner.
Can you have a real pet and a virtual pet? Of course, virtual pets are not here to take the place of real pets or compete with them for their owner’s love and attention. Real pets and virtual pets are two separate things. Not everyone is into real pets and not everyone is into virtual ones. Some people may choose to have both and others will choose to have neither.
If you don’t have space for a real pet, or can’t have one for some other reason, maybe you or someone you live with is allergic to animals, a virtual pet is a great substitute. Depending on the pet you choose, you may even learn some tips on caring for real pets.
